This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009 (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Prerequisites:

Students must be over 14 years of age.

There are no prerequisites for this unit of competency.

Enrollment:

Duration: 9:00am-11:00pm

2 hours face to face training after the online assessment.

Assessment Criteria:

Throughout the course participants must demonstrate ongoing competency during a series of practical skills evaluation and written assessment.

Requirements for Completion:

100% attendance and participation

Award Issued:

On successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment, which is valid for 12 months. This course complies to policy advice by the Australian Resuscitation Council. As per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines the Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009 unit is recommended to be completed every 12 months.

This course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the National Training Information Service (NTIS). It is WorkCover approved in every state.

The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information


NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market. NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), Commonwealth authorities, state and territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

  • administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
  • facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER’s behalf.

NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.
