Swim Teacher Course
The Swim Teacher course will consist of the following components:

1. Online Learning and Assessment Tasks:
Once enrolled you will be provided with login details to complete the online learning components prior to attending the online theory session.

2. Theory and Practical Assessment:
This will be led by our trainer who will take you through the theory content of the course as well as assess the practical component.

3. 20 Hours Work Experience Placement Program*:
To bridge the gap between the Swimming and Water Safety Teacher course and employment, participants will be provided a work experience placement at their local BlueFit facility. In this unpaid work experience placement participants will gain important job skills and knowledge that will enhance their chance of employment. The placement will involve completing 20 hours of in-water training where you will shadow a qualified trainer and be required to log these sessions in a logbook that will be provided to you.

If you choose to undertake this program you will be required to submit your logbook to Southern Education before you can be issued with your Statement of Attainment for the course.

*The workplace placement program is not a mandatory requirement in attaining the SISSS00132 skill set statement of attainment. The 20 hours are completed in addition to the skill set assessment tasks.

Upon the successful completion of all assessment tasks, you will receive an SISSS00132 Swimming and Water Safety Teacher skill set statement of attainment, Nationally Recognised Training qualification issued by Southern Education (RTO 41402).

Please note that you have NOT completed the course or met the skill set requirements until you have successfully completed both the online and face to face practical assessment components.
