Course Description

This course is mandatory for all people working on-site in Solar Victoria's Solar Homes program- see www.solar.vic.gov.au/working-safely-solar for more information.

Under this Solar Victoria funded Program, your course is provided to you free of charge if you meet the following eligibility requirements:

To receive a funded place, you must be

- An Australian citizen or permanent resident as evidenced by green Medicare card or other documentation

- A Victoria resident as evidenced by a Victorian driver.s licence or the provision of documentation that proves residency status

- Reside in Regional Victoria OUTSIDE of the Local Government Areas of the Port Phillip region (map is provided in our enrolment form)

- Involved in relevant on-site installation which will support participation in the Solar Homes Program.

- Licensed Electrician or Plumber

- Apprentice Electrician or Plumber

- Trades Assistant

- If none of the above, you will need to provide details and proof of job role

We will send you an ENROLMENT PACK after we receive this registration - you.ll be asked to complete and sign a formal ENROLMENT FORM AND TRAINING AGREEMNT in which you will provide evidence of meeting the above eligibility criteria

Provided you meet the eligibility criteria, your course fee will be funded by Solar Victoria

Note that workers who are NOT undertaking on-site installation activities are not eligible for Solar Victoria funding for this course, and are not required by Solar Victoria to undertake this training.

COURSE DETAILS:

1. Complete the online component - allow 8 hours - self paced
You must complete this prior to attending face to face practical training

2. Face to face practical training - allow 4 hours

Thursday 18 July 2024 - Traralgon

Tuesday 17 September 2024 - Bendigo

Wednesday 18 September 2024 - Shepparton

Thursday 19 September 2024- Wodonga

Tuesday 24 September 2024 - Ballarat

Wedensday 25 September 2024 - Geelong

The practical component of this course is being delivered by a mobile training facility. For the safety of students and staff, your practical skills training will be undertaken in a simulated work environment. You will not be working at a height or on a building roof

What to wear : Steel caps, long sleeves and trousers, hat, sunglasses, high-vis.

How we disclose your personal information


Solar Training Centre - Green Business Audit & Training are required by law (under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act)) to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information


NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market. NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), Commonwealth authorities, state and territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

  • administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
  • facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER’s behalf.

NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.
