You are enrolling into a 3 day Wilderness First Aid Recertification Course.

You are required to already hold a Wilderness First Aid or Remote Area First Aid Certificate to enrol into this course.

This course will be held at the 5 Star Training's Katoomba classoom.

218 Katoomba St, Katoomba, 2780, NSW.
The classroom is located in the old games room of the Katoomba Town Centre Motel
Parking: NO Parking on Premises. Please park on the surrounding streets.

Course hours approximately 9am - 5pm each day.

This nationally accredited course is valid for 3 years. SISSS00126 - Wilderness First Aid Skillset
The CPR component is valid for 1 year.

Once you have enrolled you will be required to

1. make payment for the course either online or through bank transfer
2. complete the online pre course work material (you will emailed your login details for this approximately 2 weeks prior to the face to face training)

Course information
DESCRIPTION
The course is designed for those who work in the wilderness tourist / education industry in a leadership capacity or who are preparing to do so and require the skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders and provide first aid to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation until the arrival of medical or other assistance. It is intended for those wishing to provide first aid in remote areas.

LENGTH OF COURSE
Pre course online theory work & 3 days practical and assessment . recert/upgrade pathway.

ACCREDITATION
The following Skill Set has been identified through consultation with the Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA), the peak body for the Outdoor Recreation industry and will be utilised as the basis for the registration requirements of programs like the National Outdoor Leader Registration Scheme (NOLRS). This course is also known as Remote Area First Aid which satisfies the Code of Practice . First Aid in the Workplace and NSW Adventure Activity Standards.

ELIGIBILITY/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no stated prerequisites for this course but you are required to:
. Have previously held a wilderness first aid or remote area qualification
. Complete the online training prior to commencement of the course
. Attend all three days practical & assessment

The fee for this course is $495

Due to the practical nature of the course, participants are advised to wear clothing appropriate for outdoor activities. You will be required to bring the following items:

. Appropriate outdoor style of clothing

ASSESSMENT
Assessment for this course requires successful completion of:
. pre course material prior to course commencement
. a written theory test
. ongoing practical first aid responses.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information


NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act.
