This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to:
> conduct work related health and safety investigations as a result of an incident and to contribute to a safe workplace.
> apply risk management processes in the mining, drilling and civil infrastructure industry.
> communicate information to complete work activities within the mining, drilling and civil infrastructure industry. It includes planning and preparing for and conducting communication via a number of different methods to ensure work activities are understood
It applies to individuals who:
> participate in work related health and safety investigations as part of their responsibilities.
> are working in an operational, supervisory or team leader capacity
> contribute to applying risk management processes as part of their responsibilities. This could be an employer, line manager, supervisor, safety representative or employee. This unit applies to those who carry out or assist in carrying out risk assessment in the workplace.

Learners have the option to complete this course fully online or partially online with a practical session booked in through the RTO in one to four hour blocks.
